*Diplazium esculentum (Retzius) Swartz. Common name: Vegetable Fern. Phenology: Jan-Dec. Habitat: Moist hammocks and disturbed areas. Distribution: Native of the Old World tropics (s. and se. Asia south to Indonesia).

Origin/Endemic status: Paleotropics

Synonymy : = Fl1, FNA2, K4, NS, POWO, WH3; Hemionitis esculenta Retz. > Diplazium esculentum (Retz.) Sw. var. esculentum — Lin et al (2013); > Diplazium esculentum (Retz.) Sw. var. pubescens (Link) Tardieu & C.Chr. — Lin et al (2013). Basionym: Hemionitis esculenta Retz. 1791
