not marked as a favorite taxon Panicum virgatum Linnaeus var. spissum Linder. Common name: Tufted Switchgrass. Phenology: Jul-Sep. Habitat: Gravelly or sandy fresh to brackish shores and swamps. Distribution: E. Canada south to Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware (Kartesz 1999, 2015) and North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia (Sorrie 2018b).
