Clematis coactilis (Fernald) Keener. Common name: Virginia White-haired Leatherflower. Phenology: May-Jun; May-Aug. Habitat: Shale barrens, shaly woodlands, dry calcareous barrens and woodlands. Distribution: Endemic to w. VA (Botetourt, Craig, Giles, Montgomery, Pulaski, Roanoke, and Wythe counties).
