Clematis ochroleuca Aiton. Subgenus: Viorna. Curlyheads. Phen: Apr-Jun. Hab: Dry woodlands and woodland borders, generally over mafic or calcareous rocks, such as diabase, gabbro, or calcareous siltstone. Dist: Primarily Piedmont: C. MD south to ec. GA; disjunct on Long Island, NY.
