*Calliandra haematocephala Hasskarl var. haematocephala. Section: Androcallis. Common name: Powderpuff Tree. Phenology: Jan-Dec. Habitat: Disturbed areas. Distribution: Native of South America, cultivated in the southern part of our area and allegedly persistent or spreading.

Origin/Endemic status: South America

Synonymy : = POWO; = n/a — FNA11.1, NS; < Calliandra haematocephala Hassk. — Fl3, K4, WH3, WI, Isely (1998). Basionym: Calliandra haematocephala Hassk. 1855
