*Cytisus scoparius (Linnaeus) Link. Common name: Broom, Scotch Broom, Besom, Ginster. Phenology: Mar-Jun (-Oct); May-Jul (-Nov). Habitat: Roadbanks, woodland borders, disturbed areas. Distribution: Native of Europe.

Origin/Endemic status: Europe

Taxonomy Comments: POWO (2024) accepts 4 subspecies in Europe; only ssp. scoparius is deemed to have naturalized in North America.
