*Indigofera hirsuta Linnaeus. Common name: Hairy Indigo. Phenology: Jan-Dec. Habitat: Sandy disturbed areas, utility rights-of-way, wildlife ‘food fields’. Distribution: Native of the Old World tropics. First reported for SC by Nelson & Kelly (1997). Also known from other scattered locations in the Southeast, such as s. MS (S.W. Leonard, 2006, pers.comm.), AL (Diamond & Woods 2009), and VA (Cheterfield County) (Wright et al. 2023).
