*Maackia buergeri (Maximowicz) Tatewaki. Japanese Maackia,. Phen: Apr-May. Hab: Sparingly naturalizing in suburban woodlands. Dist: Native of Japan. Reported as sparingly naturalizing on Duke University campus, Durham County, NC (W. Cook, pers.comm., 2007).

Origin/Endemic status: E. and se. Asia

Synonymy : = FNA11.1; = n/a – RAB; < Maackia amurensis Rupr.
