Trifolium carolinianum Michaux. Common name: Wild White Clover, Carolina Clover. Phenology: Apr-Jul. Habitat: Open woodlands, woodland edges, pine savannas, thin soils around rock outcrops, disturbed areas. Distribution: Se. NC south to n. FL, west to MO, OK, and c. TX. reports from north of NC are either misidentifications or waifs.
