*Vigna unguiculata (Linnaeus) Walpers. Common name: Black-eyed Pea, Field Pea, Cowpea, Crowder Pea, Yardlong Bean. Phenology: Jun-Aug; Jul-Sep. Habitat: Cultivated in commercial and home gardens, rarely persistent or occurring as a waif in disturbed areas. Distribution: Native of tropical Africa.
