Hexastylis ruthii (Ashe) Small. Common name: Appalachian Little Brown Jug. Phenology: Mar-Jun. Habitat: Upland acidic forests, ultramafic outcrop barrens, calcareous forests. Distribution: A Southern Appalachian endemic: sw. VA, se. KY, w. NC, e. TN, n. AL, and n. GA.
