Crataegus munda Beadle. Common name: Dwarf Hawthorn, Neat Hawthorn. Phenology: Late Mar-Apr; Sep-Oct. Habitat: Longleaf pine sandhills, other xeric or subxeric forests, scrublands, disturbed woodlands. Distribution: C. NC south to n. FL, west to s. and c. AL.
ID notes: Crataegus munda is a shrubby taxon (< 2 m tall) with small (1-3 cm long), predominately spatulate leaves, slender geniculate twigs with thorns usually < 3 cm long and inflorescences of 1-3 (-5) flowers.
