Origin/Endemic status: Endemic

Taxonomy Comments: Allied to C. pulcherrima Ashe, and having a core range mostly in the northern limits of the former. The entity C. gilva Beadle, morphologically similar and here included in synonymy, has leaves less inclined toward lobing and may warrant at least varietal status.
