*Prunus padus Linnaeus. Subgenus: Padus. Common name: European Bird Cherry. Phenology: Apr-May; Jun-Aug. Habitat: Suburban woodlands. Distribution: Native of Europe. Cultivated and rarely escaped at least as far south as se. PA (Rhoads & Klein 1993; Rhoads & Block 2007) and DE (Kartesz 1999).

Origin/Endemic status: Europe

Synonymy : = C, Can, FNA9, Il, K4, NY, Pa, Tat. Basionym: Prunus padus L. 1753
