*Ulmus parvifolia Jacquin. Subgenus: Ulmus. Section: Microptelea. Chinese Elm, Lacebark Elm. Phen: Aug-Oct; Sep-Nov. Hab: Disturbed secondary forests, roadsides, fencerows, old fields, other disturbed areas. Dist: Native of China and Japan. The bark on mature trees exfoliates creating a patchwork of gray, brown, green, and orange blotches.
