Hab: Bottomland forests, especially on second terraces, also mesic to dry-mesic upland sites, especially where somewhat base-rich. Dist: A Southeastern Coastal Plain endemic: e. and c. VA south to nw. FL and west to se. TX and north in the interior to e. TN, s. IL, and s. IN.
