Croton lindheimerianus Scheele var. lindheimerianus. Common name: Lindheimer's Croton, Three-seeded Croton. Phenology: May-Nov. Habitat: Sandy loam hillsides, rocky clay hillsides; fields and other disturbed soils in the eastern part of our region, adventive from farther west. Distribution: AR, s. KS, NM, and AZ south through s. LA and TX to Mexico (COA, NLE, TAM).
Origin/Endemic status: Native
Taxonomy Comments: Var. tharpii, of AZ, c. to w. TX, and Coahuila, may warrant species rank.
