Acorus americanus (Rafinesque) Rafinesque. American Calamus, Sweetflag. Phen: May-Jun. Hab: Marshes, wet meadows, other wet areas, limey seeps. Dist: NS west to AK, south to n. NJ, DC (allegedly), c. OH, c. IN, c. IL, IA, NE, MT, ID, and WA.

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Taxonomy Comments: This species is apparently a fertile diploid.

Other Comments: Because this species has not generally been recognized in floras, its distribution is poorly known; additional distributional records should be expected and sought.
