*Carissa macrocarpa (Ecklon) A.L.P.P. de Candolle. Common name: Natal-plum. Phenology: Mar-Oct; Jun-Dec. Habitat: Disturbed uplands. Distribution: Native of s. Africa.

ID notes: The stems are armed with stout bifurcated spines.

Origin/Endemic status: Subsaharan Africa
