Lemna minor Linnaeus. Section: Lemna. Common Duckweed. Hab: Still to slowly moving waters of ponds, lakes, beaver ponds, and swamps. Dist: Widespread in the Northern Hemisphere; scattered in the Southern Hemisphere, where perhaps in part introduced.
