*Pistacia chinensis Bunge. Common name: Chinese Pistachio. Phenology: Mar-Apr. Habitat: Planted horticulturally, but now naturalizing freely in suburban areas. Distribution: Native of China, the Philippines, and Taiwan. This species is a major new invasive species in the Southeast. Krings (2011) documents its occurrence in the Piedmont of NC (Wake County). Serviss & Serviss (2020) reported its naturalization in Arkadelphia, AR (Clark County). Reported for Marengo and Montgomery counties, AL (Diamond & Keener 2021).
