Hab: Pine-oak woodlands, pine savannas, pine flatwoods, longleaf pine sandhills, openings in maritime forests, sometimes in wet, almost peaty soils. Dist: Se. VA south to n. FL and west to e. LA; disjunct in sc. TN (Coffee County).
