Ancistrocactus scheeri (Salm-Dyck) Britton & Rose. Common name: Root Cactus, Fishhook Cactus. Phenology: Nov-Mar. Habitat: Thorn scrub. Distribution: C. and s. TX south to ne. Mexico (NLE, TAM).
