*Orychophragmus violaceus (Linnaeus) O.E. Schulz. Purple-mistress. Phen: Mar-May. Hab: Railroad rights-of-way, other disturbed areas. Dist: Native of Mediterranean Europe. Introduced and apparently well established in and around Richmond, VA; originally reported as Moricandia arvensis (Rollins 1993), a misidentification.

Origin/Endemic status: Mediterranean Europe and Africa

Synonymy : = FNA7, K4, Va; = n/a – C; >< Moricandia arvensis (L.) DC. – K1, Rollins (1993), misidentification
