Silene caroliniana Walter var. wherryi (Small) Fernald. Kentucky Wild-pink, Catch-no-fly. Phen: Apr-Jul. Hab: Dry, rocky places, limestone bluffs. Dist: Apparently in disjunct areas: S. OH south to sc. KY; ne. AL south to sc. AL; sc. MO. Reports from VA and WV seem to be erroneous.
