Portulaca halimoides Linnaeus. Common name: Silk-cotton Purslane. Phenology: Mar-Nov. Habitat: Sandy or gravelly areas; eastwards as a waif along railroad (Reed 1964). Distribution: Mexico south to n. South America; West Indies.
