Habitat: High elevation forests, in humus or on talus, under Betula cordifolia, Picea rubens, or Pinus rigida. Distribution: Greenland west to AK, south to NJ, VA, WV, OH, IN, IL, IA, SD, NM, and WA; ne. Asia (ne. China, Japan, Korea, n. Myanmar, e. Russia).
