Phlox ovata Linnaeus. Common name: Mountain Phlox, Appalachian Phlox, Allegheny Phlox. Phenology: May-Jun; Jul. Habitat: Moist forests, woodlands, woodland borders, and barrens. Distribution: PA to NC and ne. TN in the Appalachians; disjunct in OH and IN
