Phlox stolonifera Sims. Creeping Phlox. Phen: Apr-May; May-Jun. Hab: Moist forests. Dist: PA and s. OH south to w. NC, n. GA, and e. TN, essentially a Southern and Central Appalachian endemic.

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Other Comments: This species is sometimes locally abundant, as in parts of Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
