Potamogeton perfoliatus Linnaeus. Common name: Perfoliate Pondweed, Clasping-leaf pondweed, Redhead Grass. Phenology: Jun-Oct. Habitat: Fresh to oligohaline tidal aquatic beds, also ponds and other nontidal waters. Distribution: NL (Newfoundland), NL (Labrador) west to MI, south to ne. NC, and n. OH; disjunct in w. FL, c. peninsular FL, s. AL, and se. LA (where perhaps historical); Guatemala.
