Elliottia racemosa Muhlenberg ex Elliott. Common name: Elliottia, Southern-plume, Georgia-plume, 'Laurel'. Phenology: Jun-Aug. Habitat: Xeric sandy ridges, sandhills, river bluffs; serpentine woodlands. Distribution: Endemic to e. GA and s. SC (Aiken County, where considered to have been extirpated). Elliottia racemosa extends barely into the Piedmont in Georgia, occurring on Burks Mountain on serpentine in a Pinus palustris woodland.
