Rhododendron eastmanii Kron & Creel. May White Azalea, Eastman's Azalea. Phen: May-early Jun. Hab: Rich slopes. Dist: This species is endemic to the Piedmont and upper Coastal Plain of South Carolina, and locally fairly common in the Broad River drainage (Horn 2005).

Origin/Endemic status: Endemic

Taxonomy Comments: Previous reports of R. alabamense in SC (RAB) are based on this species.

Other Comments: It should be sought in NC and GA, approaching within 4 miles of the NC border in Cherokee County, SC (M. Creel, pers. comm., 2007).

Synonymy: = FNA8, K3, K4, Horn (2019); < Rhododendron alabamense Rehder – RAB, misapplied
