*Verbascum phlomoides Linnaeus. Common name: Clasping Mullein, Orange Mullein. Phenology: May-Aug; Jul-Sep. Habitat: Disturbed areas, roadsides, longleaf pine sandhills (if left unburned). Distribution: Native of Europe. In 2021, this species is spreading rapidly in the Fall-line Sandhills region of NC and becoming invasive, encroaching into natural habitats.
