Macranthera flammea (Bartram) Pennell. Common name: Flameflower, Hummingbird-flower. Phenology: Jul-Oct. Habitat: Pitcherplant bogs, bayheads., blackwater creekbanks. Distribution: Nearly restricted to the East Gulf Coastal Plain (e. GA and FL Panhandle west to se. LA), but ranging east to the Atlantic Coastal Plain of e. GA (Bullock County), within a county of the SC border.
