Myzorrhiza riparia (L.T. Collins) Weakley. Common name: Riparian Broomrape. Phenology: Aug-Oct. Habitat: Bottomlands, parasitic on annual composites such as Ambrosia trifida, Xanthium strumarium, Ambrosia artemisiifolia, and Helianthus annuus. Distribution: VA, s. WV, and DC (James, Potomac, Shenandoah, and New rivers); OH, IN, IL, MO, TN (Mississippi and Ohio rivers and their tributaries); NE and CO south to w. TX and NM.
