Physalis elliottii Kunze var. glabra (Waterfall) J.R. Sullivan. Phenology: Jan-Dec. Habitat: Beach dunes, other open sandy areas. Distribution: Gulf Coast of FL, from Pinellas County southwards to the Monroe County keys.

Origin/Endemic status: Endemic

Synonymy : Physalis viscosa L. = Physalis elliottii Kunze — FNA14; = Physalis ×elliottii var. glabra (Waterf.) J.R.Sullivan — K4, Sullivan (2013); = Physalis walteri Nutt. var. glabra (Waterf.) D.B.Ward — Ward (2008a). Basionym: Physalis viscosa L. forma glabra Waterfall 1958
