Crataegus crus-galli Linnaeus var. pyracanthifolia (Aiton) Sargent. Narrowleaf Cockspur Hawthorn. Phen: Apr-May; Oct. Hab: Bottomland forests, swamp borders, lowlands, sometimes locally abundant. Dist: DE south to n. FL, west to MO, e. TX.

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Other Comments: The narrow leaves may be glabrous or pubescent on the lower surface, varying as local genotypes.
