Origin/Endemic status: Endemic
Taxonomy Comments: E. anomalum is believed to be a triploid and tetraploid apomictic derivative of the hybrid E. mohrii × rotundifolium. Inasmuch as it is now a separate lineage (as evidenced by a distinct distribution, more-or-less recognizable morphology, and phenologic separation), treatment as a separate taxon seems warranted.
