not marked as a favorite taxon Eurybia avita (Alexander) Nesom. Common name: Alexander's Rock Aster. Phenology: Aug-Oct. Habitat: In shallow soils on granitic flatrocks and granitic domes where moist from seasonal seepage. Distribution: Upper Piedmont endemic: w. South Carolina to wc. Georgia. Previous reports from the North Carolina Blue Ridge are based on misidentifications of E. surculosa.
