not marked as a favorite taxon Helianthus maximiliani Schrader. Common name: Maximilian Sunflower. Phenology: Aug-Oct. Habitat: Moist roadsides and disturbed areas. Distribution: Michigan and Manitoba west to British Columbia and south to Texas and Mexico (Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo León); introduced in the East.
