Solidago plumosa Small. Common name: Yadkin River Goldenrod. Phenology: Sep. Habitat: In crevices of outcrops in rocky, flood-scoured riverbanks. Distribution: Known only from the type locality, the gorge of the Yadkin River in c. NC. Most of the population was lost by construction of two hydropower dams, one at each of the two ends of the gorge, and the flooding of the intervening area.

Taxonomy Comments: This species is related to the more northern S. racemosa, the more western S. arenicola B.R. Keener & Kral 2003, and Solidago ayuhwasi M. Brock & D. Estes 2023, in e. TN.
