Dist: ON west to ND and WY, south to TN, LA, and TX; disjunct eastward in glade habitats to nw. GA (GANHP), TN (Chester, Wofford, & Kral 1997), KY, and possibly NC and SC. Semple et al. (2012) also mention occurrences as far east as the Carolinas; this requires additional assessment.
