Solidago tortifolia Elliott. Common name: Leafy Pineywoods Goldenrod. Phenology: Aug-Nov. Habitat: Longleaf pine sandhills (especially in loamy flats and dips), sandy longleaf pine sandhills, other dry pinelands, calcareous clay prairies (Black Belt of AL and MS). Distribution: Se. VA south to s. FL, west to AR and TX.

Taxonomy Comments: Semple (2023c) studied the cytogeography of Solidago tortifolia, and found it to be apparently uniformly diploid (2n=18).
