Habitat: Mesic, nutrient-rich mixed hardwood forests. Distribution: NJ and Long Island, NY west to PA, n. OH, and e. IN south to c. VA, c. NC, w. SC, n. GA, and ne. AL, primarily in the Appalachian Mountains and adjacent provinces.
