Isolepis R. Brown. Common name: Club-rush, Clubsedge.
A genus of about 60 species, herbs, subcosmopolitan in distribution. Since Isolepis is more closely related to Cyperus than to Scirpus, in which it has often been included, its separation from Scirpus is clearly warranted. The generic delimitation of Isolepis in relation to Ficinia and Scirpoides is less certain.
