Symphyotrichum puniceum (Linnaeus) Á. Löve & D. Löve var. puniceum . Common name: Purple-stem Aster, Swamp Aster. Phenology: Sep-Oct. Habitat: Bogs, seeps, ditches, wet meadows. Distribution: NL (Newfoundland) and NL (Labrador) west to BC, south to GA, AL, MO, and SD.

Origin/Endemic status: Native
