Lathyrus Linnaeus. Common name: Wild-pea, Vetchling.
A genus of about 150-160 species, annual and perennial herbs, of nearly cosmopolitan distribution. The recognition of Lathyrus as separate from Pisum and Lens is uncertain; Noel Ellis et al. (2024) argued for retention of traditional generic circumscriptions pending more definitive phylogenetic results.
