*Lens P. Miller. Common name: Lentil.
A genus of about 6 species, annual herbs, of sw. Asia, s. Europe, and n. Africa. The recognition of Lens as separate from Lathyrus and Pisum is uncertain; Noel Ellis et al. (2024) argued for retention of traditional generic circumscriptions pending more definitive phylogenetic results.
