Symphyotrichum schistosum (Steele) Nesom. Common name: Millboro Aster. Habitat: Shale woodlands. Distribution: Endemic to w. VA, so far as is known.

Taxonomy Comments: This does not act as a hybrid, but rather as an independent taxon, and thus should not have the "hybrid ×" as part of its name (J. Townsend, pers. comm., November 2018).
