*Sagittaria guayanensis Kunth ssp. guayanensis . clade: Rhombifolia Group. Guayana Arrowhead. Hab: Disturbed wetlands, rice fields. Dist: Native of Mexico, Central America, South America, and the West Indies.

Origin/Endemic status: South America

Taxonomy Comments: The other subspecies, sometimes and perhaps with reason treated at specific rank, is ssp. lappula (D. Don) Bogin, of the Old World tropics.
